CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an educational approach that focuses on providing students with practical skills and hands-on training in specific career fields, preparing them for immediate entry into the workforce or education beyond high school.
NORTHWEST CAREER & TECHNICAL CENTER
Northwest Career & Technical Center serves students from Bellows Free Academy (Saint Albans), Missisquoi Valley Union High School, Bellows Free Academy (Fairfax), and our regional homeschool population. Our programs are taught by industry professionals, and their career-focused curriculum is continually updated to meet the needs of employers in their field. NCTC students gain marketable experience that differentiates them from the average high school graduate.
OUR PROGRAMS
Programs at NCTC run for two-to-three periods a day, for the whole school year. A student completes their program after two years. Our ten incredible programs include:

APPLICATION PROCESS
Northwest Career & Technical Center admits students to its programs through an application process—much like a college. Our application is available online at maplerun.org. Students can submit their applications any time before our priority deadline of January 15th.
Applications submitted after this deadline will be processed and placement will be made if space is available in the program. Program admittance is based upon a completed application that reflects the student’s success in the following three areas:
Attendance
Attitude & Behavior
Advancement toward proficiency in prerequisite coursework
